We welcomed Joe & Tim from Innovate Recycle to our Worcester DC, we had a really informative meeting discussing all things carpet recycling ♻️

The innovate team take our baled carpet waste, deconstruct it, and recapture polypropylene and calcium carbonate for re-use in a wide range of industry applications. Their set up is hugely impressive. 

We have been working with Innovate for a few months now, but we know we can do more when it comes to our waste and that our recycling journey is only just beginning. 

A huge next step for us is to start identifying the compositions of our carpet waste, this is where Innovate have very kindly loaned us a spectrometer, this clever little device identifies the composition of the carpet within a couple of seconds, meaning we can sort our waste quickly and accurately.

We will be doing some trials at our DC’s and then planning how we invest and incorporate this process into our day to day.
